before – after – image processing
The work behind the scenes: In addition to an eye for the essentials and the right perspective, professional image processing is crucial for meaningful and effective architectural and real estate photos.
Time required
Unfortunately, I keep finding that most people don’t really realize how much time and effort goes into editing the images. The photographer doesn’t come to the shoot, press the button, download the pictures at home and then send them to the client by return of post. No!
Image processing is the work step that is ultimately decisive in the war and often takes a lot of time. At the same time, image processing is a science in itself, for which various software applications must be perfectly mastered. This information is extremely important, as it naturally also affects the working time – and therefore also the price – of an architectural and real estate photographer.
In my blog I have written an article about what I do as a real estate photographer as part of an assignment. If you are interested, please click HERE.
Examples
Here are a few examples that give a good impression of why professional image editing is so important. All you have to do is move the slider on the photos to see the “before and after” effect.
My final images usually consist of several photos. I only ever use a certain part of each individual photo, which then flows into the final image. I use this technique to set accents in order to emphasize relevant image content. At the same time, unwanted image content can be replaced and, for example, the sky can be exchanged. This combination of different techniques results in first-class real estate photos. My priority is always to give the images a natural look. Ideally, the results of the image processing look as if they have not been edited.
